Bridget Chisholm

Managing Partner

Bridget Chisholm is an established expert in structuring public - private financing for capital projects targeted to strengthen urban communities. As a 25 - year corporate and entrepreneurial executive, Ms. Chisholm brings innovative, bold and practical financing insight that actualizes her client’s vision. She is managing partner of BWC Consulting - a firm that specializes in economic development and higher education advisory and management and investment financing consulting. Ms. Chisholm gained her initial experience in public financing while serving as a Shelby County Commissioner. In this role she helped secure the largest bond issue for the FedEx Forum ($250 million), as well as Memphis’ first Tax Increment Financing (TIF) project, Uptown. Since 2008, her innovation and entrepreneurial acumen have led to over $500 million in multi - layered financing transactions, restructurings and developments in the midst of the nation’s economic downturn. Client impact includes:

  • Finalized $12 million in complex financing for the Towne Center at Soulsville utilizing five different funding vehicles, New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC); federal appropriations; grants and local public subsidies from the city and county;
  • Served as FA and helped Bennett College for Women obtain a $30 million loan modification and $21 million in capital financing that allow the College to build a state - of - the - art Global Learning Center, 144 - bed residential hall, an Intergenerational Center and a Wellness Complex as well as $9 million in refinancing;
  • Secured $29 million for refinancing SWAP termination and capital improvements for Claflin University, and
  • Structured $25 million for Miles College for three new facilities, master plan integration, which also incorporated State NMTC.

Currently, Ms. Chisholm is leading strategic initiatives for units of local government in North Carolina, as well as other Colleges and Universities.

Ms. Chisholm’s expertise has been shaped by her entrepreneurial experiences. She led a private equity group overseeing a $20 million, 700-employee, multi - unit dining and restaurant franchise. She owned and operated a million dollar service franchise in the Hope VI redevelopment area of south Memphis. As owner and developer, Ms. Chisholm used her expertise in public - private partnerships to lead the development of multiple capital projects in excess of $6 million. Her experience also includes brand management positions at General Mills, Maybelline Cosmetics, RJR Nabisco, and Avado Brands.

In December 2013 Ms. Chisholm was appointed to serve on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Small and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB). Additionally, she is on the High Point University Board of Visitors. Ms. Chisholm holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wake Forest University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
